I need to remove the hairs from the thorax of a honeybee before creating a macro object-movie of the wing joint. The bee will be dead at this point. I have done this on other occasions with some fine tweezers but I really feel I must find a better alternative. It is A very tedious and B can easily result in damage to the thorax walls if I am not super careful (leading to even more tedium). I tried the obvious, an off the shelf depilatory cream and it had no effect. I can only assume that the hairs of a bee are chemically quite different to human hairs. I've used caustic soda in the past to remove muscles from dissected parts and that also doesn't really touch the hairs. Quite amazing really.
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
